Wild Vision Productions

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How can Wild Vision Productionsclips be of use to my project?

A: WVP clips are high quality HD and can be used in films, HDTV broadcast programs or scaled down for DV projects.  These clips are great for transitions between scenes (day to night), backgrounds (ie, clouds), establishing location shots.  The clips are easily incorporated with other footage and content shot on HD.  Creative and slick, TKTL shots can add value at a low budget and make great "hero" shots for a production.

Q: What makes WVP Time-Lapse clips special?

A: WVP clips are shot in progressive mode one full frame at a time and often a long exposure is used.  This gives clips a fluid organic motion as the shooting technique captures light across time.  This process records light at all times rather than simply capturing a single slice of time at increments, resulting in a smoothness that cannot be obtained by simply rolling off tape and speeding it up in post.  These are anti-strobe, time-compressed, super fluid shots.

Q: What formats are available?

A: HD High Definition and 2K. The clips in the WVP collection are available in all formats ranging from HD to 2K, including 1080i, 1080P, 24P, 30P, 29.97fps.  HD size is 1920x1080 and 2K size is 2048x1536.  Most clips can also be acquired in a WVP(2K+) format at 2560x1920.  As a standard the clips are usually delivered HD 29.97 frames per second Quicktime in Best Quality Photo JPEG codec.  Clips can be delivered in Lossless Animation for an extra charge.

Q: How are the clips delivered?

A: Wild Vision Productions Quicktime clips can be downloaded or delivered on a Data DVD.   Best Quality Photo JPEG codec is used as a standard.  Downloadable clips are available in High Quality Photo JPEG compression, rendered at 100% quality.   Clips can also be delivered in Lossless Animation for an extra charge.

Q: How much do the clips cost?

A: Most of the HD clips on Wild Vision Productions range from $199-349 each.  2K/WVP are obviously priced higher. I can create packages and offer special deals on multiple clip orders as well.  I will often throw in extra clips for free on multiple orders.  Also, some of the shorter clips have negotiable price ranges as well.

Q: How are orders placed?

A: Orders can be placed by purchasing online via the Google Store. Contact me befor purchasing if you require a special format. You may also pay via check.

Q: Can I download my purchased clips online?

A: Yes, I will make specific clips available for download on my server within 24 hours of purchasing. You will be E-mailed of the download location  HD clips for download are compressed in the High Quality Photo JPEG format.  You can avoid shipping charges by downloading the clips.

Q: Do you have any Rights Managed clips?

A: Yes.  While all clips are currently offered as Royalty-Free, 75% have never been used and are not distributed by anyone else.  Because of this, many of the clips can still be Rights Managed.  If you are interested obtaining a clip under a Rights Managed agreement, please contact me.

Q: What does Royalty-Free mean?

A: Royalty-Free means that you buy the clip once and it's yours to use however you want without having to pay any royalties in the future.  You can use it as many times as you desire on any number of projects.

Q: What are some of the limitations of the online clips in comparison to the original TKTL clips that are being offered?

A: The clips online are 480x270 H.264 compressed playing at 30 fps.  The original timelapse clips are 1920x1080 HD Animation and final delivery is standard at Best JPEG.  Clients are often amazed at the resolution and clarity of the purchased clip.   Another comparison is the actual file size.  An online clip that is 2mb is usually around 2000 mb (2 gigabyte) in size in it's original Animation format.  That same clip is about 700 mb in the standard Best Quality JPEG for delivery and 300 mb in the High Quality JPEG clip for downloading.

Q: Why do some of the clips on the web seem to skip or stutter?

A: This is another limitation of the online web clips versus the original clips.  It is a result of the compression of the clip for the web.  Rest assured, the original clips are smooth.  If you have doubts about a clip, please feel free to contact me and I can upload a better version for you to check.

Q: Are you available to shoot specific "on location" shots?

A: Yes, please contact me if you are interested in hiring me to shoot original clips.  Also, don't hesitate to contact me with requests for future clips or a wish list.
